    Teaching Philosophy:
Private music lessons offer the opportunity to encourage a student while helping them to avoid bad playing habits and learn the fundamentals of correct playing. The student's enjoyment and confidence are greatly enhanced while they make steady progress. Important qualities for the student to possess are a desire to learn, self discipline and perseverance. Each student is an individual and has unique learning methods and concerns. At lessons we work on school band music, special turmpet exercises and solos. Emphasis is put on technique development, ear training, rhythm study, range extension, sight reading and general musicianship. I encourage my students to perform on recitals, solo & ensemble contests, at church and to participate in school and All-State honor bands.
