Theatrical
and Educational Accomplishments: |
|
| |
|
|
Since
1985, I have been an instructor in Communication Arts
for Pueblo Community College, primarily on the Fremont
County Campus. I have extensive experience teaching
Public Speaking, Theatre Arts, Acting, and the entire
range of English courses. My production company mounted
an original radio drama series on a New York radio
station, and in Colorado, I have been an active member
of Fremont Civic Theatre for over twenty years. I
have played Henry Higgins in My Fair Lady, Al Lewis
in The Sunshine Boys, and dozens of roles in countless
other productions. I have also directed many large-scale
theatre pieces, including Carousel, Brigadoon,
Oklahoma!, Nunsense, The Music Man, The Unsinkable
Molly Brown, and Fremont Civic Theatre's annual
Christmas show. |

Educational
Philosophy: |
|
| |
|
|
Creating
an environment that fosters mutual respect and is
conducive to learning is the primary responsibility
if the educator. I prefer to function more as facilitator
than teacher, presenting pathways and encouraging
students to follow them. Instruction in technique
is definitely necessary, but I believe learning happens
best when the student has a sense of personal ownership. |
