Playing
in bands professionally and in schools since he was
13, in his high school years, he was chosen for All
State Band at UNC, Greely and attended the Oral Roberts
University Jazz and Music Camps in Tulsa, OK. After
graduating from Canon City High School, he attended
Berklee College of Music in Boston, and Dick Grove
Music Workshops in L.A. He has been a member of the
National Association of Rudimental Drummers since
1977. While in L.A., he studied under Nick Ceroli
(Tijuana Brass) and toured the area with the L.A.
Country-Rock band Red Eye Express. He performs regularly
with many area groups, including Pueblo Symphony (which
he has served as timpanist and principal percussionist
for), Dwight Shaw Septet & Big Band, Swing Connection,
Springs Band, Broadmoor Tavern Orchestra, Dick Cunico's
Little Big Band, Pecos River Country Band, Springs
City Jazz Band, State Fair Rodeo Orchestra and has
produced (and played on) a CD by Lynette Moffitt-Mondy.
Clark has been the principle drummer/percussionist
for the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center Rep musicals
for the past 4 years, in such award-winning productions
as West Side Story, Man of La Mancha, Chicago,
Damn Yankees, Sweet Charity, Hot Mikado, and
Cabaret. He also drummed for TheaterWork's
production of Cole Porter's Nymph Errant
at UCCS. He has served as percussion clinician at
Lewis Palmer Middle School as well as Canon City High
School's drumline. He is organist for the Church of
Christ, Scientist, and plays keyboards and/or drums
for Anshey Hashem and First Presbyterian Church, all
in Canon City. He loves composing and his tunes are
performed regularly in many groups he frequently plays
in, including John Turner Trio, Carlos Crull &
Wasabi, Just in Time and the fusion band 21/3. He
resides in Canon City with his wife and two sons. |
